Source reference composition and operating conditions for NI-88.

Technical CenterNI-88 — Reference Bath Conditions

These values are reproduced from Mengde's original NI-88 product information. They describe this particular additive system and are not a universal plating formulation. Nickel sulfate hexahydrate: 240–300 g/L; standard 270 g/L Nickel chloride hexahydrate: 45–75 g/L; standard 60 g/L Boric acid: 37–53 g/L; standard 45 g/L NI-88 make-up additive: 8–12 mL/L; standard 10 mL/L NI-88 replenisher: 0.5–1 mL/L; standard 0.6 mL/L Wetting agent: 1–2 mL/L; standard 1.0 mL/L Temperature: 49–60°C; standard 55°C pH: 3.5–5.0; standard 4.5 Current density: 2.2–10.8 A/dm²; standard 5 A/dm² Filtration: Continuous circulation NI-88 is a high-performance nickel brightener system. The source specifies continuous bath filtration and a typical operating temperature of 55°C and pH of 4.5. Make-up additive consumption is low and replenishment can be adjusted after several kAh of plating. Discuss your process with the technical team before changing production conditions. Use the product's current documentation for handling and storage.
