Overview
TPP changes the deposition potential of copper and zinc impurities in nickel baths so that the impurities co-deposit, avoiding a separate electrolytic filtration treatment. It can improve the white brightness of the deposit, reduce yellow staining and improve coverage in deep recesses. It is particularly suitable for nickel plating of zinc alloy die castings.
The source recommends dissolving 1 kg of solid TPP in 100 kg of deionized water. Excess addition can reduce brightness and affect subsequent chromium plating.
